    Male or female?
    Here is a leopard gecko I am having doubts about its gender. It was incubated at 82F (female temp), and is now at 48grams.

    The reason I am in doubt is because as you can see from second photo, where the tail is pulled back a bit, that there are two, albeit very small bulges (Pointed at with arrows). Not sure if these are hemipenal bulges or just the edges of the local opening. When the tail is not back, it looks more female to me?

    Also there ARE some pre anal pores but from what I can see, females have them just not as obvious?

    I have asked and my friend think female because at this size the bulges and pores should be more pronounced?

    I'm pretty sure the bulge at the base of the tail means he's a male.

    Given the size, and how faint the pores are I would say female.

    bred leos for 15+ years and as sure as i can be with out the gecko in my hand that gecko is female
