SD/D retic experience

Just wanted to share my experience here with SD/D retics. Since this was the first site I went to for info before I made the plunge. I have a 2012 62.5 female purple SD het snow, 2011 female ph snow, 2012 male anery het snow and a Anery het snow 2014. My two oldest females are in season. Ones flighty the other cool like a mainland. One is 12 ft and the other 11ft. The male is 6 ft. Both females now have a feeding mode that's unreal. There fed every 7 days but now every 5 until the go off feed. They both will slam into the cage door or bite the snake hook multiple times until I tap them out of it. Nothing I can't handle and used to it now. The male is uber flighty but never strikes. Most of my guests can't handle him or my flighty female. Everyone's amazed on how fast and strong they are. All with so called experience are usually intimidated. I love them all and still feel privileged to have them. Thanks for sharing, Havok. Did they get this big on rats or where you giving them rabbits? It is good to hear that the male does not strike at all. I hope mine stays that way and does not start to get territorial aggression.

Wow, that sounds like some crazy feeding response. I have a 50% Jampea dwarf albino reticulated python and she is just over six feet now. I've been feeding her twice a week and that seems to really mellow her out. I also handle her at least once a week for about ten minutes at a time. She usually is really mellow, although I opened up the cage the other day and she came flying out and almost bit me, scared the heck out of me mostly because that was unusual behavior for her LOL. I'm feeding small rats and about to move up to mediums. Looks like you may be up to jumbo rats! You should try to power feed a few smaller rodents in a row. I tried that with my girl and she went crazy over the first one, then slowly snapped up the second, and then on the third she just slowly wrapper her lips around the rodent LOL. I wish my ball pythons would feed as easily as my reticulated python, it would make life a lot easier! I love the top photo of your purple albino!

Thanks all. The females are feeding on XXL Guinea pigs. The male is also 62.5%. Both are starting to calm so soon they will be in season.
