Breeding on Reptichip?

I know most people breed their snakes on paper, but has anyone ever had problems breeding on Reptichip? I'm getting my first adult female next week and plan to breed her right away. It's that time of year and she took last year off and is ready to go. I use Reptichip in all my tubs, just wondering if it's OK to pair them up. She is a big girl, about 2800 grams and I plan on breeding her to a 1400 gram male in an 80 series tub.

I don't see why it would be any different than breeding on cypress or aspen.

Now, to address the "elephant in the post". Quarantine?

As Eric said..... many breeders breed on all types of substrate.
And again I find the need to ask..... Why do you want to gamble your collection??

Well some people say that any kind of substrate can get into the reproductive organs of the snakes and cause blockage or infections or inhibit breeding, not sure if that's true or not? I've heard it's one argument to always breed snakes on paper... Good to know people are breeding on substrate, seems like Reptichip chunks are big enough to not interfere like other substrates with smaller particles.

It's true it happened to a friend of mine (well known breeder) a few years back with one of his male, and it happened to me with one of my male, so yes there is a risk when breeding on substrate like cypress, is it somethin g that happens often? Probably not, but when it does it's a costly issue with the possibility that the male will never breed again.

Since I have been breeding on paper exclusively but I do intend to try breeding on reptichip this season, it's different than cypress a much softer substrate and therefore it might not be as risky as cypress.
