I don't see why it would be any different than breeding on cypress or aspen.

It's true it happened to a friend of mine (well known breeder) a few years back with one of his male, and it happened to me with one of my male, so yes there is a risk when breeding on substrate like cypress, is it somethin g that happens often? Probably not, but when it does it's a costly issue with the possibility that the male will never breed again.
Since I have been breeding on paper exclusively but I do intend to try breeding on reptichip this season, it's different than cypress a much softer substrate and therefore it might not be as risky as cypress.
