Do all bananas lose their lavendar color as they mature?
My two year old, 1000g banana het pied male started out as a typical "banana" looking hatchling with vibrant yellow and lavendar. Now as an adult he looks like this:

I still think he's gorgeous and kinda prefer the tan color over the lavendar. But is this common with bananas, or do they usually keep their colors as they grow?

Their yellows fade a bit, but the lavender stays pretty lavender. Check out pics 2 and 3 at WOBP: http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...vender-albino/
It's almost exactly what my 3yr lav albino male looks like. His lavender color is about the same shade of lavender on my baby banana. Yellows, obviously, are much more faded. Personally, I think the lavender albino color ages better than banana coloring.

I have been looking into this and honestly, figuring it out has been surprisingly difficult. There are far fewer adult morph pictures running around than I would have believed, far more baby/juvenile pictures.
It's hard to tell these pythons age just from the photos, but it does appear that some "larger" ball pythons keep their coloring after they age some. That said, it does seem like almost all lighten up some.

I have also poked around trying to see if certain morphs helped bananas keep color, but again not much luck.
On that note, I've been wondering, at what age does a ball python's color stop changing? Or does it change its entire life? o:

If you want a lavender snake that holds its color well look at a toffino. My breeder is a knockout at a bit over a year. Not quite as yellow as when he was a hatchling but defenatly more purple

Seems like there is a lot of variability, I wish we had more photos from baby to adult. Here are some other lavender colored adults to show the spectrum:
