How long does the first shed take?
My little borneo is going through her first shed. It seems to be going much slower than it does for the balls. It took about a week from the first sign of a pink belly till the start of going blue which took 3 days to go fully blue. Then a few more to clear up. She's been clear for her third day now and still hasn't shed yet. Is there a point I should start to worry, or is the process for ahort tails take a bit longer than with balls? It's been about 2 1/2 weeks since her first sign of going into shed. The balls are usually over with in about 10-12 days from when I first notice a pink belly. You can feel that her skin in loose and ready to come off. She spends almost all her time in her dig box of moist sphagnum moss, so she's plenty humid to shed. And the humidity in the rest of the tub is running about 70*. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9f4c926d61.jpgHad to include a picture. Hopefully she'll peel it off tonight or tomorrow. I worry about feeding her until she finishes her shed.

Well, this morning I checked on her and she had almost completed her shed, her skin was in one piece just attached at the tail still. So that answers that question for me. It takes about 2-2.5 weeks from the time of first pink belly.

Gotta have a post shed pic of her colors. She definitely lightened up a bit.
