end of a 10 month feeding strike
So my ghi-het red axanthic male whom I bought last year and is the daddy to possibly the first ghi super red axanthic (waiting on wobp on that one) has not touched food in almost 10 months.
have tried everything I know to get him to eat with no luck. Now mind you I was not overly worried as he was not loosing weight (60 grams in 10 months) and was still healthy and all. still shedding and active. At the show today a vendor was selling soft furred rats. Something that is not seen much around here (I have been looking for them for quite a wile) He had 11, 4 females and 7 males, I bought them all.
Just to see I dropped one of them in with him and well that was that never saw such a feeding response from any snake ever. All and all it was worth the drive to the expo (didn't buy any thing else as every snake there was grossly over priced, not saying some of them weren't nice just they wanted $175 for a pastel hatchling and it was not that nice of one )still glad i went and glad he finally ate again
Re: end of a 10 month feeding strike
that's great to hear! I didn't even know that they could go that long without eating... awesome.
and if you're talking about the white plains show, at the top of the stairs in the back there were snakes at very good prices. adult double morph snakes male and females under 50 dollars. there was a large mystic male for 40$. pastel combo for 65. I got a breeder yellowbelly female for 75$ and a black head breeder male for 375$ (they are 500 anywhere else)
I almost wanted to buy everything he had because the prices were so good :o
