    armoire turned into snake home
so Im trying to house two balls and a red tail and found this awesome 8 foot armoire that I turned into a cage My problem is since the humidity was going to be so high I thought the wood would rot so I painted the floor and walls with the flex seal paint. It says on the can it is toxic free here is the verbiage from the web site
    1. Non – hazardous and non – toxic – it is perfectly safe around you and your children. Once it is dried off you can even eat off it, so to speak"

Has anyone every tried using this? it smells toxic as hell, I just wanted to make sure it is safe for my girls

I'm sure it smells super toxic when wet, most of that stuff, aquarium sealant has an acrid scent before it dries. I've not used flex seal myself, but once it's dry I bet the obvious odor will go away.

I'm reading the SDS on FlexSeal and it sounds non-toxic even before it cures unless heated to 212 degrees. Here is the sheet: http://www.mcoe.us/view/1668.pdf

Although of course it's not written with reptiles in mind.

For a comparison here is the SDS for a Polyurethane sealant that people often use on reptile enclosure: http://www.menards.com/msds/104436_001.pdf

It has a health rating of 2 with a flash point of 101 F (before cure). So according to the SDS the polyacrylic is twice as toxic.

In both cases you're using the product for something other than it's intended use, but SDS sheets tend to mean business.
