Can I have the tub with a lid and hanging out about 5 inches?
I am building a rack and was wondering because i skimped out on the rack a Costco rack same material same thickness just the racks are not as wide, only 18 inches so for a 28-quart tub which are 23 inches long, would that make a big heat difference? with 5 inches of the tub sticking out? before I make it and put snakes in it I want to make sure there won't be any huge problems with heat? heat tape I have 6inch flexwatt and will probs be putting 2 ball pythons in it right away just checking to make sure they are safe.

Have you built it yet? Do you have pics? My first initial response would be no its prob not an issue. But depending on what DIY rack your building sometimes heat retention and insulation can be an issue.

there the sterilite ones no chance of that way to firm luckily, this weekend I will attempt to build it then Im just worried about heat and feeding will not be as fun without the sliding tubs, Ive been an apprentice i guess for quite some time with a buddy of mine and my rack will hold more then his but its smaller and he is 100% anti lid method and his only reason is because it's easier feeding but i was wondering if there is any other problems lol.
