    Thermostat questions
I recently obtained a ball Python from an acquaintance who didn't really know how to take care of her, so as a first time snake owner, i want to do my best to keep her safe and happy. Without thinking it over too much, I bought as new UTH for her since the one that was with her was broken, when I should have bought the thermostat first probably, my question is, since I already placed the UTH on her tank, what would be the best way to go about placing my thermostat? I've read that it is best to put the probe under the UTH before sticking it to the tank, but that obviously won't work now, since I stuck it on already. Could I just tape the probe on the exposed side of the UTH, it seems to get to the same temps as the sticky side does. This is the one I'll be buying probably tomorrow, unless better suggestions cone along. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_i=507846

i would just peel up the UTH and place the probe between the glass and the UTH, i have taken my UTH off several times and it is still sticky and sticks back no issues.

I have no doubt they stay sticky, but I have seen these things lose function after being peeled up due to the heating element breaking. I'll figure it out when I get the thermostat in-hand I suppose.

I think if you are just peeling up a small part of it for the probe, it should be ok. That's what we ended up having to do and our uth is fine. She's moving to the beardie enclosure soon, (it's a front opening enclosure which will be so much easier, and the beardie is getting a bigger one,) and I will get a new uth at that point, since it would need a full peel off.
