Weak Eggs, dead babies from White female snakes

Hello all,

I have a quick question regarding "all white" (ivories, BELs, super mojos, etc.) female morphs and weak eggs. I was having a conversation with an old friend and he was telling me about his female animals laying beautiful clutches that candled great but after a few days into incubation just died off. I haven't been breeding long enough to experience this, but maybe some one else may be able to shed some light on this for me. Any info or observations you can share would be very appreciated.

I've never heard that before. I breed mostly BEL compatible morphs but my few all white females are on their first year so I can't say from personal experience. There are the eye issues with lesser/butter so I guess it's possible they could have other issues that would lead to egg death but then that would be expected of the other morphs with known issues too.

I hadn't heard of it either until he mentioned it. But you make a valid point. I'm wondering if something external might have caused this situation to arise. I didn't think to ask if there had been a move or some other kind of change in the animals environment that might have triggered that.

If there was something wrong with the genes it would have shown up by now given how wide spread and how old they are. The only problems are the bug eyes which exist in the super lesser/super butter/butterxlesser combos. You friend probably had something go wrong with the clutch or they just died out which is something that happens sadly.

This was a rumor started years ago and it's been disproven many times over! I've had successful clutches from BEL's

That's a great video. And the proof is in the pudding. But in this case it still doesn't explain the female ivories clutches dying too.
He said the rest of his clutches from single gene yellow bellies were fine but the ivories were not.

Too many variables....
I had a Mojave clutch and a Pastel clutch do the same thing once.
Good looking veins and then poof, look like they exploded.

Maybe he's got a bad couple of snakes. But just because one person has some lousy clutches, a lousy female or even just rotten luck doesn't mean an entire morph has the same issues throughout. I mean, how many female Ivorys has he gotten clutches from, how many years, how many other clutches were laid at the same time(that were perfect)... etc. I've seen females that just never would lay a decent clutch.
