HELP! My Blood is salivating.

Ok I'm pretty sure that I have never seen or heard of a snake salivate. I have had a couple BP's with RI that had mucus drain from their mouth. Just now though I had my 2 year (approx.) Blood out and after about 3 min. or so I noticed a couple of drops fall from his mouth. Shortly after he was drooling like a blood hound but very thin like saliva or even just water. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? What could it mean? Could it be a symptom of a more serious issue?

I have him in a PVC enclosure that is 36x24x16. He is on cypress mulch. I have him heated with a Zilla heat pad connected to a Zilla t-stat and it is set to approx. 95F. He just at 4-5 days ago and had 2 small rats.

You do understand that no one can diagnose a snake online, it could be something as simple as your snake drinking water right before you got him out (been there done that)

If you are really concerned, observe your snakes over the next few days and if necessary take it to a vet.

I understand that was just wondering if anyone has similar happenings.

No way for us to tell-however I would keep a very close eye on him and be prepared to take him into the vet if anything else seems off. My blood drooled a bunch of water like that once after drinking and it scared the crap out of me until I realized the cause. Your t-stat is set to 95-what is the temp where he is at? Hot spot for a blood should be 85-86 max, they like it cooler. Many people keep them with ambient temps around 82 and no hot spot.

Yes, it very likely could just be water. Pick him up tomorrow and see if it happens again.
