    Pirate Albino Banana.. right?
My fiance and I picked up an Albino Banana boy from House of Reptiles in Florida three days ago. He has one eye due to a birth defect as well as dwarfism (his little chubby butt makes my life so much better, honestly.)

We won't be able to breed him to produce more Albino Bananas.. But I figured I would show off my little Collector's item. He has the best personality and I'll probably be doing a progression thread on him, but for this thread's sake, below are some images of him. We picked up a champagne male the same day, they were sold in different correctly sized tubs and were only in the same tub for the sake of welcome home pictures.

Our champagne is now in a 32qt tub and our pirate is in a 16qt on our rack system.

Champagne "Champo" taking close ups with baby bro Imbra, a one-eyed, dwarfed Albino Banana.

Last night while I was sleeping, my fiance checked on Imbra for me, and happened to catch a sweet yawn shot! How often do you see a one eyed yawn? ;)

Our best friend wanted to hold Imbra on the way home, they got along quite well. I'm sure it's nice to be that small and watch outside (maybe? He was probably just warm.)

If you guys are interested, (I know that these pictures are potato quality,) I can take out the big boy camera tomorrow and take some hi quality pictures of him so that you all can see his markings.

Would love some input as I have only seen 2 other Albino Bananas as reference (the only two that I know of that have been successful) from reputable breeders but both look like regular albinos.

    Disclaimer:
He was sold to us by a reputable breeder as an Albino Banana.
He was sold to us with a birth defect and is missing his right eye.
He was sold to us as a dwarf and not stunted - I guess time will tell, none of the other BP's in the Reptile House are stunted.

As always, thank you for reading,
    Mac&Ty

He's lovely. But tell me more about this dwarf stuff. I haven't found info on it.

I'm also curious as to how you'd tell a runt from a true dwarf. He's a cutie for sure.

From our experience with him, he is completely different than the stunted rescue we adopted. There's always a chance he was stunted, only time will tell. I couldn't find any information on dwarfism either..

Maybe a video would keep differentiate the two. He moves differently and his bottom 2/3 is completely chunked out like a midget (not from feeding), rather than when we got the stunted rescue girl that was being kept on an improper enclosure who only had a 1/3 chunk before her vent.

I'm hoping that if he is a true dwarf, his progression thread will help raise awareness that it can in fact happen. The good news, if he isn't a dwarf (as he was sold to us), he's still a cutie!

I will take good pictures of his pattern today..

Thank you for the questions! I'm still trying to learn.

I'm curious about the dwarfism. Did they give you any feeding and weight records? Hatch weight? Current weight and age?

he's cute and thank u for giving him a chance at a good life. however, i would question the dwarfism and him being a Banana. he's got rolls, so he's either chubby or going into shed. if he were a dwarf, i would assume u would not be able to tell until u have had him for quite some time (like years) and he remains small. (or if he's proportions are all funky - like big head, small neck/body, etc.)

also he's really high yellow. an Albino Banana would look like a normal Albino. i think u might have an Albino Champagne, Albino Pinstripe or Albino Spider. your boy doesn't have enough white or pattern. what was the pairing that produced him? i think the breeder and/or petshop misidentified him. it happens.

anyway post more pix and keep us update on the cute lil guy.

I'm thinking albino champagne based on those circles on it's spine. A better photo would help though.

Thank you, both!! I've been a bit busy and haven't been able to take a better picture yet. I will post one by tonight.

I am leaning towards him being perhaps albino spider or albino champagne as you both said. His markings down the center of his back (I'm still learning but I believe that is his dorsal stripe) are almost identical to the pictures I found of Albino Spiders, but his gradient really pushes me to think champagne.

You guys rock. Maybe you'll be able to identify with a non-potato picture! Lol.

The progression thread should prove whether he is or is not a dwarf. A better picture will truly show why I believe he is a dwarf - his head and first 1/3 of his body is skinny, maybe a dimes circumfrence, then his stomach/lower body is one huge chub that he has issues moving with. He rolls more than a slither.. Maybe I need a video too.. Jeez.

Thanks again for taking your time to comment.

He has been dubbed Captain Imbra Yellowbeard. Ruler of the 7 seas... Err.. At least the reptile room? :P

Edit #2: I'll snap a couple pics of each (especially mr. ringer and Imbra) by tonight to share, I should be home with them by 5 and have tomorrow off from work.

Tomorrow my fiance and I are going to finish our DIY rack system and I cannot wait to take pics of everyone in their "tubs"!!
Thank you for the compliments, you're too sweet.
