Chlorhexidine Solution Shelf Life

I had mixed up a gallon of Chlorhexidine solution about a month or so ago and still have about 3/4 of the gallon left. Since I really dont use alot of the stuff, I was wondering if chlorhexidine has a certain shelf life once it is mixed. I would hate be cleaning but 'not really cleaning' if the solution is no longer good. Just a random question I came up with while cleaning some enclosures today :)

I'm pretty sure it is ok for quite awhile. We use it when doing dentals and whatnot to prevent infection, but we do alot of dentals... I would think that it is still ok to use.

I figured it would not go bad in a months time....but I wanted to know just how long before it looses its effectiveness. Thanks becky
