It's official....
Dallas hates me! I went to take him out of his tank and he struck at me twice. Missing twice. Good thing I have a snake hook to get him out of his cage.

Sooooo Dallas and I have had a talk. He is ok now. We are going to try again tomorrow. He is feeling a little blue. Belly is a little red. My boy is growing and it he is getting ready to shed!

lol! yeah, Irwin's been in shed for the past few days and its not been pleasant. Odd; sometimes he has no trouble with handling right up to the night before he actually sheds, and sometimes, like the other night, i start to lift him ever so gently since i know he sensitive right now, and he starts thrashing around. I call it his, "I couldn't possibly be more displeased" dance, pretty sure whats going through his mind is closer to, "GET OFF ME!"

I always soak theme too before I feed them. Well Dallas was not having it. Oh but when I pull him out of his soaking tub he is ok. Sir, I will not play with you today. I will not.

Why do you soak your snake? Out of curiosity.

When I clean their cages I just let them swim around a little bit. I have gotten bowl movements in the tub versus in the tank. It started when I had my burm, just kept doing it with every snake I have ever owned.

I'd advise against it just because soaking a BP dries them out and is actually counterproductive to the shedding process.

nice, high humidity is the key to perfect sheds. get them to shed nicely and u don't have to stress them out by soaking them or rubbing them down with towels, etc.
also they will have bowel movements when they're ready. unless there's a blockage, they don't need a soak to assist pooping either. it's easier to provide good husbandry than to stress and troubleshoot issues with your animals.

I never knew I was doing harm to them by doing that. I feel like a bad parent now.
