Weird Sore on Frozen Feeder Rat
When i opened the plastic bag holding my frozen rat i found a weird sore on its left shoulder, its a dark brown sore. Ive heard that rats sometimes get sores from itching too much from mites? Is this what this is? Is it safe to feed to my Ball? Thanks in advance, good to have boards like this we can come to. :)

If it was from mites you would actually find mites as well on the rat (little dark speck everywhere) which I do not see.

From the picture it's hard to tell what it is exactly could be missing fur from allergy, could be a bite from another rat. etc.

Looks like an injury, bite, etc. I would just toss it. IMO its not worth the health of the bp for the cost of one rat.

Looks like it could be an abscess which has burst.
