    HELP! My snake is broken!
    Semi serious.

My 3 month old pastel normally eats and then retreats to the warm corner and stays there for a few hours before retreating to her warm hide for about a day.

Today was feeding day, she was out and about as soon as I got home. She is still on live mice bc that's what I got her on (rat pup next week then F/T ASAP, only got her ~2 weeks ago). The mouse was bigger than last week, but prolly just over 15% her body weight. She had no issues killing the mouse, then tried to eat it side first before getting it head on. From there, no problems.

Once she got most of it down I left for 5 mins to change for dinner and came back to this:

I was like uhhhh okay, odd. But just let her be and went to dinner. Just came back and:

I know they need belly heat to digest, so as cute as this is, is she okay??? Lol. Her temps are fine, 80/85 ambient, 90 UTH on thermostat. Her humidity is above 50% and I redid her water and put a damp paper towel on earlier.

She will be fine, they don't need belly heat to digest they need adequate Temps and with ambient being in the 80's it will be fine.

Not everyone provide a hot spot with belly heat ;)

Except for the fact she wants to be a tree boa, everything seems fine to me :-)

Phew. I just went in to spot check with my temp gun and her little snoot was hanging off the bamboo, and didn't move when I moved the screen lid to check substrate temps, so I touched her to make sure she was alive LOL. Like, I'm in medicine, I should not be this paranoid. Motherhood of a new species does crazy things to you.

Thanks for the fast reply! Can now enjoy my cute ball python who thinks she's a tree boa LOL

The store people laughed at me when I bought those bamboo things and said I just got a baby ball who I had a hunch would like climbing LOL!

Glad she is doing okay! I have the same exact "bamboo" poles and my bp LOVES them, but he is always falling off haha. Looks like we both have wannabe tree boas! :D
