    How long is too long?
My snakes have been locked going on about 30 hours now. I know I shouldn't try to force them separate, but how long is too long? I've read about them going 24 hours, but this is crazy.

I'm going to try and be home more today so I can check on them hourly.

They probably haven't actually been in the same lock all that time. Leave them be until you find them not locked. At the end of your pairing period, check on them a couple times in the same hour, nothing kills the mood like the giant monster that brings you food staring at you mid coitus

The longest lock I have witnessed was close to two days. I did not watch constantly so there could have been a break.

I have found animal in the same position they were in 48 hours later. What is the purpose of checking hourly? Disturbing them? Leave your snakes alone they know what to do there is no need to disturb them, the only thing to monitor is the 5 minutes of introduction.

Ok, I just didn't know if leaving them this long would exhaust or harm my male. The front end of my tubs are clear so it's not too hard for me to peek at them without disturbing too much

    Hi,

It's also important to remember there is nothing you can do anyway - trying to manually separate them could easily damage either snake.
