Do you use the night mode on your Herpstat?
so i was rearranging some racks, moving snakes around and making room last night. then i was messing with one of my Herpstat thermostats and flipping through the menu, i realized that i don't use the night cycle. i aim to keep my hot spot/heat tape at a constant 90degrees day or night. do u use the night cycle/night mode on your Herpstat or similar thermostats for your BP's?

Edit: well i realized i don't really use all the bells and whistles on the Herpstat. :/ what other features do you use besides heat regulation?

I don't use the night mode only because I was under the impression BPs did not need it cooler at night. Only features I can think of that I use are the alarm if temp is out of range as well as a limit on the amount of power it sends to my heat tape. I never see my heat tape above 40%, so I set the limit to 50%.

I don't use the night cycle either bc my animals seem to thrive and breed fine with the temps set at 92f. That gives me a tub temp of 89f- 90f. What I will do if there is a projected heat wave in the city, is to lower my settings on all the tubs including my garter snake tubs. I may go as low as 85f for them and 87.5f for the pythons.

Have not found a reason to use night drop yet.

As already stated by others, no need for night drop with BPs. There are many species where a night drop is recommended - or even necessary - for their upkeep, and that feature is geared more towards those.

thanks all. that's pretty much what i thought.

@Albert - it rarely gets hot enough here in Seattle to lower the settings. are u still in NYC? when it gets cold there, do u do anything rack or thermostat wise?
