how long will a thawed pinky last

I just got me a new red tail and she is doing wonderful in her new environment. I didn't expect her to eat the first week I got her, but the breeder told me to offer and see if she wanted to eat. When she didn't I give it to my Ball, well she didn't want it either. Do I refreeze this or just throw it away. I left it out one night thinking I would offer in the AM, but I thought I smelled something so I just chunked it. I didn't want to waist another pinky if I could help it. Thanks for the help.

A couple hours it should be ok but not over night. For the price of the pinky it's not worth trying to save it. Some on here with more experience dealing with frozen might know better but usually once it is thawed it should be tossed.

Sounds like a job for a cleanup colubrid.

How small are your snakes that they're being given pinkies? I've never had to use pinkies on a red-tail or ball before.

Both snakes are about 3 - 4 months old

I was going to ask a question in a different post about what is the next size up from a pinky? My red tail that has not eaten since I adopted her, but my boll has and I see a very small lump while she is eating, so I assumed I was still good for at least another few weeks. She's only about 18 inches now.
