Can Mites Kill my Python?

Hi. The friend with whom I am leaving my snake says she has all of the key symptoms of mites (moody, soaking, dots, etc.) but I don't have any time to go down there and check on her until Tuesday. I can't find any information on whether or not mites are deadly and what issues they cause so I was wondering if they will kill her by then. :( I am very worried because I also don't know anything about how to treat it? Is it expensive? I've been struggling with money for a few weeks. Will I have a pet by next week?

By Tuesday? There friend isn't up until around 11 and I work 11-9 today, tomorrow, and Monday. My partner has a similar schedule this weekend and cannot check on her either. As far as curing goes, I understand how the chemicals work to get them out of the hide, but how do I get them off her? Isn't it deadly to get mite solution near your pet?

I used reptile spry when I noticed mites. It wasn't very bad and I caught them early. The reptile spray you can spray on the snake itself just keep away from the head and remove the water bowl for a couple days while you spray the snake. Just read and follow the directions. After couple weeks they were gone!

Hopefully. Is it simmering I can find at the pet store?

If you look at petsmart they should have reptile spray, it's in a tan cream colored bottle and I believe it's only $6

The snake will be fine, just treat the mites. The stress of mites certainly isn't going to kill her before Tuesday, I would imagine the mites would have to be REALLY bad, and it would still take quite some time.

Probably can't kill your snake directly. Definitely can contribute indirectly bc all the diseases that mites can cause as vectors. They are linked to a host of blood borne , bacterial , and viral diseases.

Okay, thanks. I went to see her and the issue was very small. Nothing some spray shouldn't fix very soon. Thanks for all the help. Thank God I was let off work early tonight.
