Did he regurgitate or poop? Giant mass of fur!
I found a stretched out chunk of fur in my 4 year olds terrarium 3 days after eating a large rat. It looks like it's only fur but I see what appears to be two feet on it. I took pictures but I cannot post attachments here?
This is his first meal in 6 months, I got him from a friend because he was not eating, I just hope he did not regurgitate that rat...
Re: Did he regurgitate or poop? Giant mass of fur!
Thank you! It's a little complicated uploading pictures LOL but the next time I post something I'll have to work on learning the process. The rat was probably a standard medium rat, large to me but definitely not too big for him. I did not smell a thing so I'm hoping it was just his stool. Just how big it was made me believe that it was regurgitated but even if it was regurgitating he had to have gotten a lot out of it because it was only the fur. Will a python regurgitate a semi-digested rat or would it be the full rat?

How long should I wait to offer him more food? He is just starting to shed right now

I'd wait until after he sheds and then offer a small rat.

This, wait several weeks. Also the rat should be on the small side of the small range, around 50 grams.
In the meantime gets some NutriBAC probiotic. You can find it at The Bean Farm. For snakes I dust some of the powder on a damp f/t feeder.

It looks a lot like poop I've seen before...
