What to pair my Pied poss het Clown male to?

I plan on breeding this male to some co-dom females but as far as recessives go what route would you guys go?


I could get a double het Clown Pied and make Pieds and possibly prove him out. The other option I have in mind is to go with a clown female to prove him out and at the least make my own double hets?
What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

Probably if you want to work furter upon pied clown homozygous.

You could pair it to a clown female, you will either prove out your het and have homozygous het pied.
Or you will get a nice clutch of double hets :)

Amazing looking pied! You should really pair her with what your plans are. Proving out the het gene is something you can always do.

Thanks for the replies and complements! I was thinking about pairing him with my Mako Gargoyle but she was paired with my Clown male last season so not sure thats a good idea.

I think I may get both...TSK is selling a double het Clown Pied and is local for around $500, not sure if that is a little steep for them I saw them for $350 elsewhere but they said there was some room on the price.

Here are 2 clowns I saw on Morph Market anyone have a recommendation? The one from Bob Clark is about a year old I'm going to try and contact him today to see how much she weighs in at currently.

Really depends on the space and time you want to invest in the project to prove out.

Getting a double het is great but it could take several breeding before proving or disproving that your male is indeed or not het clown.

Personally I would go with a visual clown female, and if you can afford it a clown het pied females this way there is no dealing with tons of Possible hets.

And of course picking up a female clown and a DH female is not a bad option either.

Do you know how much a clown het pied females go for hatchling/proven breeder?

I'm currently looking at a sub adult clown for front Bob Clark and a double het from TSK. Haven't seen very many double gets from reputable breeders.
