    Ball spends majority of time pressed against the glass.
    Hey my ball python does that too! She just recently started doing it though. She love her hide which is on the other side of the tank but when she leave her hide and come to the cooler side she loves to press up against the glass like in the picture below. Also could you explain what you mean by putting the probe on the outside of the glass? Where would be a great spot.

    your pix doesn't work.

    what are your temps and humidity? do u have a hide on the cool side? your BP might be pressed against the glass b/c it's too hot and the glass surface is cooler. or your hide might be too big or lacks security for it to hide in.

    also are u referring to the probe for the thermostat or thermometer? the probe for the thermostat (which regulates the temp) goes between your heatsource and glass on the outside of the tank. the probe for the thermometer goes underneath your substrate, on top of your heatsource and glass. the thermometer measures the temp of your hotspot. you may also put another thermometer on the cool side of your tank.

    until Pit posts his wonderful drawing of a thermostat and probe set-up, here's my version...

    ~~~~~~~~~ <-- substrate
    ---------o------- <-- thermometer probe
    ========= <-- glass bottom
    ---------o------- <-- thermostat probe
    ------------------ <-- heatpad or heattape
    If it is pressing against the glass on the cool side it might mean your ambient temps are a bit too high (just to be sure, double-check your warm hide temps also).
    Give us a basic rundown of your husbandry (hot/cool/ambient side temps, hides, thermostat, etc.) and it will be easier for us to help you. If you can, also post some pics of the enclosure.
    This is a nice simplified ASCII version of Pit's famous diagram :gj:
