    I may buy a yellow
Yeah, because I am that crazy. Thing is, the female yellow annie at work is pregnant, and I don't think I can resist buying one of her babies when they're born. The female is 10' and her size doesn't intimidate me. They are awesome animals, and I think I could handle it.

Just one, slight, problem. I'm not entirely sure my mom will go for the idea. 'But mommy, it's just an amazon water boa!' ;)

She doesn't mind my approaching 6' hogg at least..

Ha ha...I would go with 'amazon water boa'..... people sometimes hear anaconda and get a little freaked.

I like yellows....do you get to handle the yellow annies alot at work? I have not heard too much about them as far as behavior is concerned.

No, unfortunately. But, my friend/co-worker has one and he says it's dog tame. If handled frequently when babies, most turn out to be pretty civilized.

Greens are illegal here.. as are burms. I like condas and burms equally.

The law here is until it reaches 12 ft. no permit and such is needed. But once they hit 12 ft. you better get a permit.

Out of all the big snakes......Retics are my favorite......but I still think condas and burms are awesome too.

Yet one of the pet stores in my area sells retic's. That a statewide issue, or a local one, Shelby?

Out of the two we recieved from the closing of the Long Island Reptile Museum is very easy to handle, the other is not too bad, but I don't yet trust him not to strike for no reason, a bit harder for me to read then the female.
Sadly I don't know much of their history, beyond some abuse reports given by some former employees of the museum. But I can assume they were not handled properly, if at all.
I really have a special respect for the yellows. I find them to be a great species to work with.
A hint of advice if I may, get a good filter....lol I have burnt through way too many canaster filters with these two. I can't stand it. And you just don't want to smell the smell of unfiltered conda water.
Keep me updated on the big girls clutch / birth.
    Thanks
    Rusty
