Changing substrate frequency

I have all 3 of my baby BP's on the brick coconut fiber substrate, and even though I spot clean frequently to remove all poops, I was wondering how often I need to replace all of the substrate and do a full bin/tank clean? I've heard so many different opinions on this, anything from weekly to monthly or more.

I still do monthly.

What's the difference versus substrates? Monthly sounds great and is what I was suspecting since it's got natural anti-fungal and anti-molding properties.

I use the same thing. I just got my BP on Tuesday and it holds a LOT of water... I'm almost worried it's too moist in there. I use a plastic tote and a heating pad. It's just going to take time to get the humidity right for me I guess.

That was my issue. Mine was to moist. Im able to keep 50 to 60% with aspen

I use paper towels and check them all twice a day and change when they get soiled, probably several tubs per day. I also put in balled up paper towels in the tubs and put 3/4 cup water when they are feeling a bit dry. Keeps the tubs sparkling clean and humid, but probably more work than most.

When needed, that will depends on how much the animals sold the bedding which is very variable from one to another.

I generally do once a month. But as Deborah mentioned, some need their tubs cleaned more than others.

Thank you for all the great input! Were I live in California it's 111 degrees right now, which begins to exhaust any home cooling systems and PG&E bills sky-rocket, which as a result, sucks up their humidity faster. I find myself misting twice daily just to keep their tubs at a consistent 55%(ish) range. That problem should ease once the temps cool down, but I'm considering adding humidity hides if the issue persists. But I will say, I'm pleased with the coconut fiber overall, as when I was using Aspen, I personally was having a horrible time with humidity.
