    Stargazing or exploring?
Hi my small ball python constantly the past few days has been reaching to the top of the screen vertically. Then he twists backwards and looks around. I've heard of star gazing and some ways to tell if he is or not. So when he was doing it I took of the top of the cage to see if he would keep gazing or not. He luckily didn't he tried to leave the cage 😂. Anyways he does it a lot, I do have an overhead fan, is this the possible cause or is it just a young ball python exploring? Anyways I'm a little worried because after doing it sometimes he falls sideways and lands decently hard on the floor of the cage. Can someone try to tell me if its star gazing or not? Thanks!

If he's in control of himself he's not stargazing.

Many of my pythons and boas like to stare at ceiling fans. I think they're attracted to the shadows on the ceiling.

Go to Youtube and you can find video examples of stargazing.

Mine does the exact same thing lol. I think the babies are much more curious and love to find ways to escape. I can't tell you how many times I've seen my banana reach for the top and almost fully extend to just slowly fall down. Sometimes it's graceful, other times it looks so sad because you think they could stop themselves from falling lol. I'm planning on getting some vines and more plants to help him catch himself the next time he goes exploring (which is currently now 😂)
