Scale rot? Burn?
Hello, new to this site so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place, etc. Wish my first post could've been more positive, but I know fellow bp owners can help with this. My boyfriend and I recently purchased an adult female albino ball from the New England Expo and have been having many problems thus far. It began with clicking, making us believe she had a resp issue so we cut back on humidity. Which has thankfully since stopped.(Currently using paper towels and heating pad, ensuring side with pad isnt too hot) and after her shed yesterday we noticed this discoloration and wrinkling. Will post pictures, praying they attach correctly. Thank you all for your help!

Re: Scale rot? Burn?
Take your snake to a vet..we cannot diagnose correctly online, and even then, we couldn't prescribe meds to help.

Also, what are your temps and humidity reading at? What do you use to measure these?

I'd say a burn I'm not a vet nor claim to be so I haven't seen any solutions so I'll give it a shot. First a thermostat a must till u get your hands on one if a Heat pad apply cardboard inside glass of tank. This is NOT a solution a thermostat is.
The burn itself does not look terrible so do the following betadine solution to water in small tub with top enough to cover 3/4 of its body 1 time daily. Just enough in warm water to turn it reddish a touch. Then add silverdine cream twice daily.. Do for a week next shed you should be good.
This is the method that The late Bob Futo taught me and he forgot more about snakes than I or most will ever know.

Hello, thank you so much for responding, currently do not have a thermostat as I just got her and the stores around failed to carry it. One is currently en route to my house, and should be here tomorrow or the next day. I layer many paper towels above the pad but my best guess is she mustve snuck underneath it. Im currently using a hygrometer and thermometer combo. Always keep temp at 80 and humidity at 55%. Thank you also for that great advice, couldnt find much about a good home solution as I feel a vet visit would stress her out more than she already has been. Whenever I heard above mentioned clicking was after being handled for too long. Also could just be a crazy snake mama who worries too much. Regardless, I too thought it was the early stages of something, but more scale rot photos looked simmilar to her than burn photos although those photos showed pretty badly burned snakes.
Sidenote, I apologize for terrible formating, Im on my phone and it doesnt handle this page very well.

No problem if you feel lost with treatment PM me I'll shoot my number and walk u through it. From what I see a weeks treatment and a shed later it will be gone.

Re: Scale rot? Burn?
If you haven't yet, you should just turn the heat pad off until you get the thermostat, the snake should be fine until it arrives.
