I was showing my newest BP to my husband yesterday as I moved her to her new enclosure, and sure enough I saw a mite on my hand. She's quarantined from my other snake of course, but I've never had to deal with mites before. I know there are a lot of tips here about getting rid of mites, I just don't look forward to it. I already use paper towel as substrate in my tubs, so it'll be easy to keep an eye on Emrys to make sure he doesn't get them. I feel really sorry for the guy I got her from though, He has about 20 snakes himself so he's going to have a lot to do to check and treat all of those. At least I only have the 2.
