    Ok i just recieved all my things my tubs. I had the the thermostat probe taped to the hottest part of the heat mat set at 95. I have my temp probe under the substrate at reading about 90/91. Since the snake is going to be on top of the substrate wont the temp be signifcatnly lower? whats the proper way to accomplish the right hot spot temp

    You want you hottest monitored spot to be the surface your animal can touch.
    They do burrow so the floor of the tub is what you want to worry about.

    ^2nd what pit said they will burrow and WILL get to the hottest spot possible. Example: this is my big Mojave girl but they ALL do this.
