    Hello! I'm new
Hi, I'm Kris and I'm new to herps. I love all animals.

I just bought my very first ball python! My fiance has kept them before and I have a couple of snake-keeping books to read. I mainly wanted to introduce myself and learn more about these fascinating creatures.

My python's name is Perses; he's named for the titan of destruction but he is in fact a very sweet, active snake. He's taken quite a liking to me already and is resting in his new home. I'm sure I'll take and post a picture sometime in the future but as of right now I don't have any pics. (Disappointing I know, I used to be part of a big sugar glider forum)

Anyways.... Holla if you want, I am very open-minded and will hear any advice offered. I might or might not take it but that is my right as the pet owner.

So this has been a Hello from me and Perses! ::snake:

Aw, welcome Kris and Perses! I recently joined this forum about a week ago as well. I have a baby noodle named Jumbi. He's a banana (w/ possible fire) bp! What morph is Perses? Looking forward to seeing pics of him:)

As far as I know he's just a standard colored ball. I got him from a local PetSmart. I don't know morphs very well but I love him just as much as any fancy morph out there because he's beautiful and very loving.

He already marks me with his scent. :blowkiss:

Perses loves exploring my arms, hands, hair, his enclosure and anywhere else he goes. He's very active and inquisitive. He already loves being handled and has not once gone into a defensive ball. He is very comfortable with me and even lets me stroke the top of his head. :D

He's got some subtle, interesting markings that might indicate some nice hets. Pics to be uploaded soon!

This is Perses' belly pattern, I think it's pretty interesting. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q...psqani5ulv.jpg

Here's his side, love the gradient colors. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q...psdaklr3bz.jpg

His adorable head stamp. What do you see? I think it looks like a turtle. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q...pslk29gmzj.jpg

So that's my Perses. Isn't he pretty? :)

Aw he's so cute! That head stamp does look quite like a turtle :D! Do you know how old he is and what he's feeding on right now?

He's about 17 inches long and I don't know how old he is because I just got him and they didn't tell me when he was hatched. I'm feeding him live small mice. He's actually due for a feeding today so he'll be a happy noodle later this afternoon. :) He poop'd this morning. My fiance estimates that he's under 6 months old.

First tip. Switch to rats. Easier and more economical to deal with in the long run.

He's not big enough for rats yet and we only feed live prey. But thank you for that advice.

I feed rats when they are right out of the egg ;)
