Planning to get milksnake soon...want white banded
    Hello all,

Question: At the end of summer I'm planning on getting a milksnake as I think tri-colored snakes are gorgeous! My question is, I want one with white banding, not yellow. I'm looking at a Sinaloan or Nelson. How do I make sure it's white banding. If I buy from a breeder do I just make sure I see a picture of the actual snake for sale? Also, if I get a baby milksnakes with the white band, does it stay white throughout its life or does it turn yellow? I'm picking Nelsons/Sinaloans because supposedly they are generally the most docile of the milksnakes. Am I wrong on that? Thanks!

Make sure the parents have white bands. If they don't the babies probably won't. Sinaloans or Nelsons both generally have nice white bands and are usually easily handled.

    Thanks!
Good point about the parents. If I buy from a breeder I'll ask to see pics of mama and papa!
