    Is my BP sick?
I just witnessed my snake moving around in his cage for the first time since I got him. But I'm concerned because every now and then he would make a sound like he was breathing out and it looked like he was rubbing his head on his hide box and the side of the tank like he was itching? When he got here this week I thought he was about to shed and his eyes got blue but his eyes are black again and he never shed. Any ideas?

Its likely your bp is trying to shed. Since you said its eyes were blue

Do I need to do anything to help him shed?

If your humidity isnt between 55 and 60% I would get it there. But thats about it. Your snake knows what to do.

Their eyes turn black again right before a shed. The pressing of the nose is probably to get the shed started. The hissing is possibly just exhaling forcefully; I noticed mine do it if startled or frustrated.
