Separating pregnant mothers

I had an issue with my 1.3 colony of ASF's eating their babies. So I separated two mothers from the colony right before they delivered their litters. The mothers had their babies and have been doing a great job raising their pups. My question is, that I always read to never split up the colony, so will it be an issue when I reintroduce the mothers after they are done weaning their pups?

Only if they aren't pregnant again, which they might be depending on how late exactly you separated them. Note most of my knowledge is from doing research, my colony is still very new and I haven't needed to do any separations yet (other than old litters of course).

But I have heard it is possible, though it might be a good idea to wait a week or two after they are done weaning before trying to reintroduce them, if you are sure they aren't ready to pop again.

I'm new at this, but have a basic comprehension of the birds and the bees. Are you saying the the pregnant female I separated, could have got pregnant while she was pregnant?!

Bah, I looked it up again to be sure, its just after they birth babies they can get knocked up again. However it's still best to wait a week or two after removing babies so they stop being aggressive towards others.

Okay now that we have completed our lesson on the birds and bees, does anyone know how the reintroduction will go?
