Pastel 100% Het Clown (Blade lineage) from NERD
I recently bought a ball python labeled as Pastel 100% Het Clown (Blade Lineage)

I want to start my clown project but im confused about the Blade aspect. I bought her from NERD and i didnt recieve any kind of paperwork with her... genetic, shed or feedings and Kevin wont respond to me. He claims that when making clowns it will produce blade clowns... is this true? i thought you the gene had to be visible to reproduce unless its a recessive gene.

Blade is a co-dominant gene. Therefore, it is visual. Breeding the animal with a Clown or het Clown will have the potential to produce Blade Clowns, among other combinations.

Blade is a pattern reducing gene. So if your animal has the blade gene then it should look like a cleaner, more reduced pastel. Blade clowns also just look like really nice, clean clowns. They get that perfect straight line down their back with really clean sides. Maybe you could upload a pic of the animal? There are some really knowledgeable people on this forum who I'm sure could give valuable input on the genetics if they were able to see a pic.

Thank you for the picture. In my opinion, I don't see any Blade in this animal.

For comparison, here is a Pastel Blade. The Blade gene really cleans up/reduces the pattern.

He said blade lineage... whatever that means. I didnt think i saw blade either... unless it came from a blade... who knows. Kevin sucks at communicating.
