    What Size?
My Pied is 88g and has been eating mouse pinkies every 5 days. What should I feed him? I want to move him onto rats eventually.

Is this a good reference? http://livingartreptiles.tripod.com/id109.html

The link is ok. I generally won't feed anything smaller than a rat fuzzy. Mouse pinkies are too small from day 1.

I've heard you need to feed a BP 10-15% of its weight, so do you think feeding one rat fuzzy every 5 days is healthy for him? Or should I start with rat pups as he's never eaten rats before? I'm also thinking of ordering mouse pinkies just as backup incase he refuses the rats. Forgot to add that this is for his first feed with me.

Don't waste your time with mice pinkies, way way too small. Do what Deborah told you in your earlier thread.

Fuzzies are smaller than pups. My rule of thumb is anything under 200g gets fuzzies after 200 pups.

A mouse pinky is absolutely too small. I think ideally you want to be feeding a rat fuzzy or a mouse hopper. A rat pup is most likely going to be too big depending on how the place you get your stuff from measures. I don't really go by the weight myself. I feed something at or smaller than the thickest part of the snake. I have a freezer full of stuff at different sizes so I just kind of pick what fits. If you don't have a lot of animals this doesn't really work though so eye ball them at the store.

There are no stores near me that sell frozen. I'm from UK and here 'rat pups' seem to be smaller than 'rat fuzzies' (under the name of fluffs)?
These are the smallest options for rats:

Oh my. When are the Brits going to learn to speak english. ROFL. Kidding. I understand the confusion now. I think you want what they are calling a pup.
