    Length to weight
I was wondering, is there a general length to weight ratio for ball pythons?
I see a lot of people asking about how big a certain ball should be at a certain age but I can't find much about at a certain length. Wouldn't that be more consistent? And is this how you could tell if they are over/under weight?
For example should a 3 1/2 ft male weigh from 600-800 grams? Or should a 4 ft female weigh roughly 1000 grams?
Those are just for example but I'm wondering if people with a lot of ball pythons notice that snakes of a similar length have similar weights?

The consistency is to forget the number and go by overall look, which will differ from male to female.

Female are chunky while male are lean.

^100% agree with Deb as usual. I'm a junkie for seeing progression on paper so I do take weights every few weeks and rodent size weight before feeding and document everything etc.

I digress... The importance is the LOOK and FEEL of the animal soft bellies and such I can't abide of they're not triangular and losing weight they all tend to grow different so it subjective to have a length to weight discussion. If the animal is eating consistently and retaining weight so be it. I got a 4y/o female mojo that looks like a tank and a 7 year old normal who eats a handful of times a year. He never loses more than 5-10 grams on his feed strikes though so he's stayed the same consistent healthy 1113 grams for about a year. The mojo is tipping towards 1700 now and is a beast in the eating division.
