Feeding

I got my Pied today (he's 5 weeks old) and was wondering if this feeding schedule seems ok as he has been eating mouse pinkies with the breeder and I want to get him on rat pups. I was going to weight him, but didn't want to stress him out.

I plan to feed him once every 5 days.
Five feedings of one 2-3g mouse pinky,
then 2 feedings of one 5g mouse fuzzy,
then 3 feedings of one 5g rat pup.

He was last weighted at 85g at 2 weeks old if that helps.
I plan to feed him on the 12th as he'll of had 5 days to settle in.

It being underfed, right out of the egg they eat hopper mice and quickly more to adult mice.

At this size your BP can eat a small adult mouse or the equivalent in rat (good size fuzzy.)

Feed a prey equal your animal's girth size until your animal reaches 500 grams.

Mouse pinkies are too small. Do a search for the feeding chart. If you try to plan a feeding schedule for ball pythons you are setting yourself up for disappointment. They almost never eat the way you want them to. They grow at different rates. Some are pigs some are not. I have 2 year olds bigger than three year olds. I have animals that will eat twice a week if I let them. Animals that eat once a week, once every two weeks, one boy who eats once a month. Another boy who has been off food for four months. You have to play it by ear. Especially for babies, feed something that is as big around as the largest part of the snakes body.
