Building New Cage

I am building a new cage for my male bp who is almost 4 years old. Now he is in a tank that is 30 inch long by 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide. I have always been told that i would have to get a new cage for him to reach his full growth potential. So i am going to build a cage that is 36 inches long and 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide... I just figured that i would run the measurments by you all to see if the cage is going to be big enough... please help...

I keep my snakes in tubs that are 33 x 16 x 6... and I know breeders that keep their adults in similar size tubs....so I guess those dimensions sound good....maybe go down on the height...10 inches would be good

Why not reverse those measurements, and make it 36x18(or wider)x12? Just making it 6 inches longer isn't going to do anything for the snake. They don't need 18 inches in height, but 18" in width would make a bit of a difference.

I just built a wooden enclosure that measures 36"x24"x18" its pretty huge and i think a great size for a full grown ball.
I'll post some pictures when i figure out how.

But i think that just because some breeders keep their snakes in a certain size tub doesnt mean that it is the size you should use. They have many snakes and need the perfect size tub for room space and snake space. If you only own a one or two snakes then i think that a bigger size enclosure would be better since they are your beloved pets and not products to sell.
