    Unexpected pied in clutch?
I cut this clutch today on day 55, and found something very strange.
The pairing was an Albino Pinstripe Female X Pied Male.
The eggs seem to show: 4 normals, 3 pinstripes, and 1 pied.....

What do you guys think about this egg? It looks to be a high white piebald. Do you think this could be just an extreme ringer?
If the mother is in fact a het, would there not likely be more than this one lone pied when paired with a visual?

    Thanks,

I would guess that your female is a Het. The odds aren't always in your favor....

You can have a het female to a visual male and get *no* pieds, roll of the genetic dice. So one pied is good news! Looks like your gal is het pied! Congrats!!

....and it's het for albino! There's a keeper for sure! :)

Looks like a pied to me! She has to be a het. And I don't think it's weird to just have one. Odds really suck sometimes, and sometimes the odds give you everything in your favor

That's a Pied you can see the belly.

As for the odd it does not always work in your favor.

I have done visual to het and produce zero visual in the past.

And I have done het to het with 50% of the clutch being visual.

Remember your odds are per egg.

Always great to get an unexpected hatchling. :gj::gj:

I got 2 visual Albinos out of an Axanthic X Albino clutch.
