    ticks !
So when i pulled off that tick off rebels back that one day i though it was all over.

But then i opened her cage yesterday and took her out and was looking at her pretty closely and found about 7-8 more !!!

I was completly horrified and didnt know what to do.

So i just tried to find all of them that i could and put putroleum jelly on them to suffocate them like last time.

The problem is that they are so tiny that they are easy to miss and i dont think the jelly will get me very far. There could be dozens more under her scales

Is there any kind of tick product that i can treat her with ?

I dont know where the ticks even came from.

She has never been outside, never crawls around on the flooor, and has never had any sort of wood put in her cage for this exact reason (fear of ticks)

so do you guys think she had them when i adopted her ??

Prevent -a- Mite works like a champ. You can get it from Matt.

Probably from when she was born. Clutches of eggs in Africa are often crawling with ticks. The tick eggs lay dormant inside the female balls' vent I believe.

I pulled 9 of them off of her today.

She was a captive bred captive hatched snake so i doubt they came from africa.

I will definitly look for some provent-a-mite, i didnt know that stuff worked on ticks

Is there anything i should do with the other snakes ?

Should i treat them with provent-a- mite as well ?

"captive hatched" refers to snakes that were hatched on a farm in Africa and imported. Captive bred animals don't have ticks. There are many shady people in this business that lie about the origins of the animals that they sell.

You have to ask yourself, what's more likely ..... that at some point your CH ball python was labeled as "captive bred" by someone in order to make a sale or that ticks spontaneously appeared on a perfectly healthy captive bred animal? hmmmm ... being someone that deals with people in this business on a daily basis, I know what I'd pick ;)

Does reptile Relief work well for getting rid of ticks ?

From all the accounts I've heard reptile relief doesn't seem to do as good of a job on the enclosure...use the provent-a-mite.
