Taking BP outside

Is it ok to take a bp outside in the yard? I would like him to roam around in the grass, but is it too risky? Are there any parasites I have to worry about?

I took mine outside and he got MAJORLY stressed out. Too much open space for him, I guess. Be sure to watch your ball's reactions and realize when they've had enough.

As far as parasites, I think if you give them a good thorough inspection for ticks and mites after you're done outside, you should be ok.

My female loves it outside. She goes hunting, it's really cute. Like Erica said, as long as you inspect your BP afterwards for mites and ticks, you should be fine.

My little one, however, hates being outside. He hates everything in general, and all he ever tries to do is get away from me. He made a mad dash for my deck the last time I had time out. Then, after I picked him up, he got mad and started flinging himself everywhere. He was LITERALLY jumping to get away! I locked him up in my digital camera bag to calm him down.

Just watch yours so he doesn't flee like mine tried to. :D

Mine is tame as a puppy. If I put him in someone elses arms, he will kill himself trying to come back to me. Even if I bring my hand above him, he'll shoot straight up. Once I wanted to see how far he could go, so I would slightly raise my hand every time he got close to it. He got about half his body lenght straight up in the air, with no support.

So I have to worry about mites and ticks? What do I do if I happen to find some on him? I read that mites, especially, are a real pain to deal with. It's just that you guys made it sound like it's just something you can casually dust off. Is it really that easy, or is it a big chore to deal with the mites or ticks that he might contract outside?
