Two heat pads in a plastic tub

I'm setting up a plastic tub enclosure (36x18x6). Right now I've got a single heat pad (THG heat tape) regulated with a thermostat on one side that takes the internal surface temp of the tub to 90°F. However, I think I keep my house too cold and I can't get the cool side of the tub past 75°F. I'm considering adding another pad to the cool side and regulate its temp to 80°F. Does anyone see an issue with doing this?

No issue at all, as long as the other pad is properly regulated by a thermostat. I have a friend who does this as his wife likes the heat set at 65*F in the winter. He puts a hide over each heat pad to help trap the heat underneath it.

You can also cover the tub with a small blanket or towel to keep the heat in it.

Lots of people do this with no issues. As long as the heat mats are outside the tub not inside. And as said above both have thermostats on them.

Awesome. I didn't think it should be an issue, but just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was overlooking. The pads will be mounted under the tanks. They will be regulated with a Herpstat 2 ( 2 tubs total of 4 pads).

I use mostly rhps bc of my house staying between 60-65 all year long but for the one PVC cage that I can't put a rhp in I have 2 heat mats, I have one that's 1/3 of the cage set for 92 under substrate and the other is the rest of the 2/3 of the cage set for 82 under substrate. Another one of my snakes was kept the same way but then I switched him to a rhp and now that's all I use for cages but I have had zero issues keeping snakes using 2 heat mats.
