Not eating

We have a bp (Slither) that isn't interested in eating. She seems to be fine, still strong, has color, she's very active and she just shed again. When offered a mouse, she looks at it and passes it by. We thought it could've been the mouse, so we put a different one in...still no interest. Slither is about 10 yrs. old. How long can they survive without eating? And any answers are appreciated.

if everything else seems to be ok with her then they can go a long time without eating. I'm talking months! if you read some of the old post here you will find that it is a trate they seem to have. when i got my bp she was just 1 yr old and the owner told me she had only ate 3x for them in a year! she has eaten 2x a week for me for over 3 months now. so i would not worry much if she seems healthy other than not eating. good luck!

welcome to the forum! first make sure your setup is correct. there are alot of posts here about setups and a good caresheet as well. basics are cool side 80-84, hot side 90-94 humidity 50-60% a water bowl and a hide. no parasites or infections. if all is well then just offer food weekly until they eat.

Most importantly, DON'T STRESS. Them not eating seems to be worse on the owner's health than it is on the snake's. Just trust that they will eat when they're hungry. Are you feeding live, PK or F/T?

And just in case you have a scale handy, make sure she's not losing weight. Otherwise don't worry too much and just keep an eye her. Keep offering and good luck.
