Hot weather? Turn off heat pads?
What do you guys suggest for really hot weather? The ambient temp in the snake room has been 83~86 during the day, maybe dropping to 78 in the night. It's been pretty crazy in Socal.

Would you guys just turn off the heat pads? Would it be preferable to just have these ambient temps for the snakes? Or just turn down the thermostat temps to around 85 or something?

With temps in the mid 80 I do not offer a hot spot. Ultimately it's up to you and see what works with your animals.

Actually if its that warm in the room your thermostats shouldn't be running much at all. I don't worry about it.

I agree with all the other comments. When it gets hot I turn off all the heat in the room and let the ambient temp set in.

LOL that's true, maybe the heat pads aren't even on. Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm with Pit - that's what the thermostats are for.

The electric bill in the summer (since I have no AC) tells me my heat mats don't work very hard this time of year. ;)
