Proper cleaning procedures...AP T8 cage
I will usually spray down the cage with a household cleaner, and then spray/rinse with water. I sometimes will start with a water/bleach mix if its really gross. But I don't understand the insistence on using a disinfectant like cyclohexidine or whatnot. Do I need to add a step or two?

I use f10sc and f10scxd, it kills various bacteria and is simply spray let sit for 10-20 and then wipe off, no need to rinse a bunch like you would have to with household cleaners. I usually do mist some water before I wipe dry the f10scxd. I do use dawn when I deep clean and then rinse and follow with f10scxd then last f10sc.

Is F10 better than chlorahexidine? If so how?
Can you use it to spot clean?

I do the exact same thing. When a deep clean is need I use dawn as well. Seems to work well with me.
