Do males produce sperm plugs even if they arent mating? and are u able to see them?

Sure...if a male has been exposed to environmental triggers that cause him to want to breed, you may find sperm plugs present. You usually have to pop the male to see them...although you may occasionally find them within the enlosure - i.e. with a shed, etc.
Is it okay to 'pop' adults? I had read you can do damage to one past adolescence (sp?)

I've never had a problem popping ball pythons of any age. If you don't have a lot of experience, big strong males and females can be almost impossible to evert, but it can be done.
