Male to female ratio

How many female's can a male ball breed too in one season? I have bred boas a couple seasons where one male bred to three females

The largest ratio I have tried is 1 to 5. 4 of the girls went.

I like to run 1.3 or 1.4 in general but this season I have a male that ran through 8 females. (6 females have laid already)

It's a matter of how big your male is, how well he feed during breeding season and how smart you are about pairing the male and not do so till exhaustion.

OK.. do they go by age and weight for breeding? Please forgive been out of it for a while trying to reeducate myself

For males it's more of a weight thing, while young male can breed successfully I have better success with males in the 650 grams and up range. Again small male can do it but you have to be a lot more careful as breeding can seriously take it's toll on a male.

For female it is a combination of age weight but also overall look.
