Garter vs. Ribbon Snake

So, I am looking into getting a ribbon or a garter snake. Can either of these species live in a 20L for its whole life? Ive read much on care for garter snakes, but I cannot find any good care sheets on the ribbon snake. What is the basic care for the ribbon snake ? Which is better, ribbon or garter snake ? Sorry for so many questions:oops:

They're pretty much the same. Ribbons are just another species in the humongous Thamnophis genus, where all of the garters reside. I'm sure there are some that might get too large for a 20 gallon but you're pretty safe with most living out their entire life in that size aquarium.
