    California King snake?
So, I already have a ball python named Nero, who is currently in a 20 long setup ( until he gets larger, than he will be moved to a 40 breeder ). But I am looking for a snake that could live in a 20 long for its whole life. I was thinking maybe a California King, would that do well in a 20 long? Does anybody have any suggestions on what could live in a 20 long for life, preferably a snake. :) This might be in the wrong section, so sorry if it is :confusd:

If you had a large female sand boa they can live in a 20 or less. Males are usually happy in a 10 but if you put a few more hides a 20 could work

Although they are usually kept in a 10 long no problem so that may be slightly big

A king snake would be a great choice and a 20g long will be fine unless you have a monster king. They're beautiful and ferocious little beasties.

Wow, they sure are gorgeous! Would a male or female be smaller ?

A 20L would be cramped but doable for an adult male king, females get too long. It would work for a baby/juvie for quite a while.

Remember that king snakes are pretty active so if you give them a larger enclosure with lots of stuff to climb on, they will use it.

@ KC- My male Cal King will be 4 in October and he weighs about 650g. My female MBK turned 3 in April and she's a close to 800g. They're both a little over 4ft. My male tends to take more food breaks during breeding season and they both shut down during the winter months. My kings are fairly active but more so when they're hungry. I have them in a split AP which is a 2x2x1 for each snake. They have plenty of room in there. They were in 40g tanks but I like the pvc cages better.
