First Hatchling to pipe is out!!!! What is normal weight?
So I paired lesser x lesser and got my very first clutch ever laid on April 17th. She laid 4 big beautiful eggs. one had a large egg window and eventually rotted. The other 3 look great. My first Baby pipped yesterday at day 55. Just a normal but a healthy beautiful worm. Weight for this hatchling is 64 grams. Does anyone know what average hatchling weight is?http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...611_151345.jpg

Average is about 50 to 75 grams but genetics play a role as well, I have several animals (all from the same Het Pied founder) that produce hatchlings between 90 and 105 grams.

The weight out of the eggs is not that important so long the animal absorb it's yolk completely and is thriving, you can hatch 34 grams hatchling that are healthy as well.

^^^^^^What she said. My clutch all came out at 42-54g. All are doing fine and eating well.

All of my first clutch were tiny, but four absorbed all of their yolk and were between 42-46 grams. Those ones have thrived from the beginning. My two runts(32 and 38 grams) that didn't absorb all their yolk struggled at first, but are quickly catching up. Congrats on your little worm!
